Do I need a F.O.I.D. card?
No, a F.O.I.D. card isn't required.
What do I need for the class?
Please bring your ID (state-issued), paper and pen to take notes. Closed toe shoes are required at the range on Sunday.
How long is the class?
The Illinois Concealed Carry class is 16 hours, which is a requirement by the Illinois State Police. Weekend classes are Saturday [8 hours] and the following Sunday [8 hours].
Where is the class located at?
We are located in Pilsen, 1100 W Cermak Road, Chicago IL, 60608. When you enroll in a class, we will email you specific instructions for locating our class and about parking.
Are fingerprints required?
Fingerprints are not mandatory but if completed your application will be expedited.
What do I do after class?
After successfully completing the class, you will receive a certificate that will be used when you apply for the Concealed Carry License. The license fee is $153.38, you pay to the state police. The F.O.I.D. cost is $11. You will apply at https://www.ispfsb.com/Public/Login.aspx
Do I need a firearm?
No, the class includes range equipment.
What happens if I can't make it to class?
You may cancel or reschedule up to 72 hours in advance. If you cancel within the 72 hours, unfortunately, you will not be refunded and you will have to pay for another date available through the website. If you cannot make it you can transfer your seat to someone you may know.
How will I get to the range? Can I go to the range on my own time?
You will need to provide your own transportation to the range. Range can only be completed during class to be considered completed.
What happens if I fail the range test?
If you fail the range test, you will need to pay a $60 fee to re-take the range test.
